- Double the line Double 3–4 feet of line, put foot through loop end to hold open.
- 20 twists Hold both strands and twist them around each other 20 times. Count carefully.
- Roll tag end over twists Spread loop legs, maintain tension — guide tag end rolling back over the twisted barrel.
- Lock off with half hitches Half hitch around one leg, then two half hitches around both legs.
- Finished loop 100% strength double-line loop. Attach leaders via Albright or loop-to-loop.
Tips for Tying a Bimini Twist
- 20 twists is the minimum for 20–50 lb line. Use 15 twists for heavier line over 80 lb.
